Seepage Performance of Fibre Bundle Drainage Pipes: Particle Flow Simulation and Laboratory Testing

Mining coal, oil and other energy will form much slope engineering, such as open-pit mine depot slope. The groundwater seepage seriously affects the stability of these engineering projects. Drainage pipes are commonly used in projects to reduce risk moisture decreasing soil stability. Such prone blockage by accumulation after a period operation, resulting decreased drainage or complete failure. By installing fibre bundles pipes, can be maintained under ingress. This paper conducted particle flow simulations influences particles on clogging geotextile filters various estimated their rates. Higher water pressure, smaller flower hole intervals pipe, greater friction angles pipe inclination less conducive drainage. Under silting conditions, performance improved bundle. Five types were tested with plastic rope providing best effect. With cotton rope, is achieved using uneven arrangements bundles. In contrast, nylon hemp polyester perform when uniformly arranged. number per unit cross-sectional area better conductivity. Seepage also has higher sand content. These results provide reference for design construction more reliable systems wet areas.
